The Landfreeder Quadtrack is a fresh new twist on the fun world of Tamiya R/C. This assembly kit uses a new variant of the TT-02 shaft-driven 4WD chassis with three-sided track units in place of the wheels. These four individual tracks help it plow through snow, sand, mud and other nasty conditions. The polycarbonate truck body comes already pre-painted in Tamiya PS-5 black. Its 1980s pick-up truck style body is molded in polycarbonate and comes already pre-painted in Tamiya PS-5 black with fog lamps, grille guard and roll bar recreated using separate metal-plated parts. A polycarbonate chassis cover and wheel well liners help prevent dirt and debris from getting into the chassis and potentially causing damage.
The TT-02FT chassis uses the shaft-driven TT-02 as a base, with track units in place of the four wheels. Each of the track units is attached to upper and lower suspension arms, and is powered via a drive sprocket that attaches to the chassis drive shaft. They swing to allow superior contact with the running surface, and feature a sprung roller to allow easier negotiation of smaller obstacles. Plenty of ground clearance is offered as well. Tracks are a plastic assembly type design with metal link pins, and give minimal power loss from friction for a smooth drive, even at lower speeds. Two types of links are included in the kit - standard, and jutting grouser designs - and can be used in tandem to customize your model's grip. The chassis features a CR-Tuned motor as standard.
The Landfreeder body comes molded in polycarbonate, pre-painted Black (PS-5) and with Smoke (PS-31) painted windows. Separate plated parts recreate grille cover, fog lamps and roll bar. The TT-02FT is a variant of the TT-02 chassis, with four tracks instead of wheels. Each of the three-sided track units is 39.3mm in width and has a contact area of 60mm length. Tracks require assembly from link parts. Two types of elastomer track link (standard and grouser) are included for setup options. Track units are attached to suspension arms via plates, and each features a sprocket and four rollers. The third roller is sprung to further enhance performance.
