RC10B7 / RC10B7D Steering Kit, Black
JCO52092
The JConcepts steering bellcrank system for the RC10B7 | RC10B7D allows the driver to adjust the height of the steering rack ball-stud instead of the bellcrank system. A quicker adjustment for the racer and less disassembly required each time. The steering rack features a steel insert that can be oriented in an upper or lower position mimicking the standard adjustment of moving the bellcranks up or down. The all-metal and machined parts combine to form a solid package capable of being tuned quickly.
Another option provided on the parts, a new pick-up point for the steering arm. The steering arm which comes from the servo of the vehicle to the bellcranks, can now be moved to a position which has more mechanical hold or power. JConcepts has included a tall ball-stud and button head screw which allows placement of a new point directly above the rack. To use this position, its necessary to remove some top-deck material for full steering throw and use a 0 offset servo horn (not included) to locate the ball-stud further back.
In addition, the stock position is also designed into the assembly to use standard hardware to assemble like stock components. For this build, its necessary to use the AE kit included bearings for the steering bellcranks and steering rack. This includes also using the AE kit supplied steering hat bushing from the bottom to assist the new JConcepts assembly. Once assembled, the new steering kit allows the racer to tune quickly and with new options not available before.
The JConcepts steering rack, and bellcranks are CNC manufactured for a precise fit, anodized to either a lustering blue or stealth black option and finished off with laser marking and machined chamfered edges. The included titanium stand-offs assemble with ease, screw into the bulkhead and allow the bellcranks to swing and pivot with lightweight components. Also included, steel ball-stud inserts for the rack which allows for a self-tightening assembly with standard kit components. 3mm hardware, tall steering pick-up ball-stud and standardized washers and securing locknuts complete a winning assembly.
To assemble:
1. Disassemble and remove current steering assembly.
2. Add the AE kit included bearings into the JC steering rack and install the steering hat bushing from the bottom. Apply a light amount of thread locking compound to the standard BHCS screw and secure the rack to the JC bellcranks. The items should pivot smoothly and with relative ease.
3. Add the JC #5211 steering ball-stud height inserts into position consistent with current setup. In example, if steering bellcranks are positioned up, place your new insert into the up position. Add a light amount of tread locking compound to the AE standard ball-ends and insert them into the JC inserts and secure with a medium amount of force.
4. For a standard pick-up position for the steering arm, use the AE standard ball-end, apply a light amount of thread locking compound and secure into the driving arm of the JC bellcrank assembly.
To use the JC #5212 included tall ball-stud and alternate pick-up location, locate and fit the tall ball-stud at the end of the driving bellcrank, add a light amount of thread locking compound to the JC included BHCS screw and secure to the assembly with a medium amount of force. *This setup requires removement of material from the standard AE top deck and a new 0 offset servo horn.
5. Using a 7mm nut driver, install the JC #5210 titanium stand-off on the bulkhead of the buggy until the stand-off bottoms out. Do not overtighten.
6. Add the AE kit included bearings into the JC steering bellcranks and slide down on the #5210 JC stand-offs.
7. Place the JC #5213 kit included 3mm washer on top of the steering and allow to sit on top of the bearing. Secure the entire assembly with included 3mm locking nut. The items should pivot smoothly and with relative ease.
8. Reassemble top deck and secure all components
